Great service. The tech, Toby, called to let me know when he would be here. He was nice, and well mannered. He seemed knowledgeable and explained the problem thoroughly. This company has excellent communication and customer service, from the time I called till the time the tech was finished, it was such a pleasant experience! I appreciate that so much.
Preformed tune up maintenance on system. The system is working very well, all components are with in range and functioning properly. System has a 20 ° temperature split. Air handler compartment is very clean and maintained. Compressor, blower motor and fan motor all with in range of amp measurements, indoor and outdoor capacitors are also within range.
Screen on thermostat is dull and hard to read, thermostat button is also not responsive at all times.
Found system running but compressor wasn't running checked capacitor found back capacitor replaced capacitor with a 45-5 checked operations all good at this time
Install dampers on two ducks open dampers on six ducks put new 16-in return air collar in checked operations all good at this time
Found secondary drain stopped up found primary drain stopped up blew both drains checked operations
Found system slightly undercharged charged up system checked operations all okay at this time
Found unit low on freon found leak and evaporator coil air handler needs to be replaced
Check blower motor and amperage check the evaporator coil check primary and secondary lines checked all duct work checked all electrical connections check amperage on condenser fan motor and compressor check contactor and capacitor check Freon levels all good at this time
Removed and replaced blower motor that is in warranty check the amperage all good at this time
Found unit a little low on freon check for leaks found leak on discharge line going into evaporator coil repaired discharge line and pulled vacuum and recharged one pound and a half of freon used of r22
Repair: system is approximately 3.5 lbs low on r410a refrigerant. Ther could also be restrictions in the liquid line, but am unable to determine that with the current refrigerant charge. For the heaging equipment, the heat sequencer is intermittently failing to connect the low voltage control to activate the heat strip. The air handler and heat kit are in poor condition due to rust and age on the system. Replaced heat kit, system is achieving 22 degree temperature rise in heat. Amp draws are in range at this time.
Warranty: Honeywell Lyric T6 thermostat calling for heat while in heat/cool/off mode. Removed thermostat from wall and reset it. Reattached thermostat to wall and system controlled properly. Will return with new thermostat Monday to warranty swap it out. Swapped thermostats, and returned warranty thermostat to Ferguson for warranty processing.
ac repair: thermostat will start running heat and go blank. Will run heat when jumped at the thermostat. Thermostat has short on the heat side and needs to be replaced. Recommend replacing thermostat to return proper heating function.
Inspection: system is 12 years old. Cooling at an 18 degree temperature split. Heating at a 28 degree rise. Emergency drain pan has rust buildup, which can leak water through in case of an overflow event. Torque Booster on condenser is out of range, not delivering adequate electricity to the compressor and fan. Starter for compressor and fan is heavily pitted and charred, making poor contacts and putting excess stress and strain on the compressor and fan. Recommend replacing emergency drain pan to prevent water from leaking into the attic, and replacing the torque booster and starter on the condensing unit.
